Jun 20   7:23 PM

There's still some optimism that Rendon will be able to return early next week, but it sounds like he could be headed for some additional testing if his condition doesn't improve over the next few days. The 33-year-old third baseman landed on the injured list earlier this week with a left wrist contusion.

Gio Urshela (pelvis) is visiting a specialist on Wednesday.

Padres designated RHP Nabil Crismatt for assignment.

Jun 20   6:49 PM

Crismatt has struggled to an inflated 9.82 ERA, 2.18 WHIP and 9/7 K/BB ratio across 11 innings (seven appearances) this season for the Padres. The 28-year-old righty has been a solid middle reliever the past few years and figures to attract some interest on waivers in the coming days.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez told reporters that Kieboom is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. It's the latest setback for the former top prospect who hasn't appeared in the majors since the 2021 season due to injury.

Jun 20   6:33 PM

Chris Taylor (knee) remains absent from the Dodgers' lineup for Tuesday's Freeway Series opener against the Angels.

Jun 20   6:33 PM

Taylor was able to field some grounders during pregame warmups, but will sit out his third straight contest on Tuesday evening as he continues to deal with a right knee bone bruise. There's no indication that he's headed to the injured list at the moment, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment.

Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Ryan Brasier from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Jun 20   6:33 PM

Brasier signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers earlier this month and will be available out of Los Angeles' bullpen for Tuesday's Freeway Series opener against the Angels. The 35-year-old righty, who was released by the Red Sox earlier this season, tossed three perfect frames in a pair of recent appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
