Tyler Glasnow was bludgeoned by the Orioles on Tuesday, allowing six earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
The Orioles jumped on Glasnow early, with a trio of hits in the first inning before Aaron Hicks took him out to right field on a hanging slider. Anthony Santander homered in the second to keep up the barrage. Glasnow battled back and pitched through a few more scoreless innings, but it was ultimately too deep of a hole for the Rays to come back from. It was the first time Glasnow had allowed six earned runs in a start since 2018, and spikes his ERA at 4.97 through five starts. The potential rebound for Glasnow: a juicy start against the Royals on Sunday.
Kyle Bradish struck out eight against the Rays on Tuesday, earning a win while allowing two earned runs in five innings.
Bradish was dealing, with the Rays unable to catch up to his slider for most of the night. He walked two to start off the third inning, then struck out Fransisco Mejia, Yandy Diaz, and Wander Franco in order to end the threat. He's got a 3.88 ERA in 13 starts, but has lowered that to 3.43 over his last seven starts and has struck out 36 in 39 1/3 IP over that timespan. The Orioles righty is currently slated to take on the Reds next Monday.
Isaac Paredes went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI against the Orioles on Tuesday.
Paredes has turned it on this week, hitting .333/.533/.524 with a homer and three runs scored. While he's hit too far down in Tampa's lineup to get great run and RBI opportunities at times this season, this was his first time hitting below the six spot in June. Paredes .265/.364/.484 line with 12 homers and 48 RBI have made him a great return on a low draft-day investment this season.
Clay Holmes struck out two in a five-out save against the Mariners on Tuesday.
Holmes took the ball from Gerrit Cole with five outs to go and shut the Mariners down. He struck out two and didn't allow a hit while he collected his ninth save of the season. It was the first time since June 13 that the 30-year-old toed the rubber, and he could be available out of the pen on Wednesday.
Anthony Rizzo went -3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI in the Yankees' 3-1 win over the Mariners.
It was Rizzo's first multi-hit game since May 26. The Yankees' offense has been on the struggle bus in June, but Rizzo could be turning a corner with his three-hit night. The 33-year-old veteran is hitting .270/.345/.441 with 11 homers na d37 RBI across 287 plate appearances.
Yusei Kikuchi threw six shutout innings against the Marlins, allowing just two hits and striking out six in a no-decision.
Kikuchi allowed a long Nick Fortes flyout with a .470 xBA in third, but struck out five his first time through the order. The Marlins sent up the minimum through five thanks to a Jorge Soler double play, and Kikuchi stranded Fortes at second after he was bunted over in the sixth Kikuchi's ERA on the season dips just under four at 3.97, and he's struck out 77 batters in 77 innings. The A's have not been quite the easy stream they were in April and May of late, but Kikuchi has the look of a good streamer in his next start on Sunday.
Jordan Romano locked down his 21st save in Toronto's win over Miami on Tuesday.
He allowed a double to Bryan de la Cruz with two out, but induced a flyout to Yuli Gurriel to end the game. Romano has gone 9-for-9 in saves so far in June, allowing just two earned runs in the process and lowering his season ERA to 2.67.
Nick Fortes went 2-for-3 against the Blue Jays on Tuesday in a loss.
He was the only Marlin with multiple hits against the Jays tonight, and also added a warning-track flyout to center. Fortes is heating up, with a .412/.421/.706 line over his past seven games, but his .250/.296/.351 seasonal line spells an unproductive fantasy player.
George Springer went 1-for-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base on Tuesday in a 2-0 win over the Marlins.
Finally freed from facing Eury Perez, Springer laced a single into left to knock in the second run of the game. He then stole second against Nick Fortes' arm. Springer's power has evaporated this year, as he has just 10 homers and nine doubles in 286 at-bats, but he has already stolen 12 bases against last year's 14, saving some of his fantasy value.
Ranger Suárez pitched six innings against the Braves on Tuesday, earning a no-decision by allowing just one run and striking out seven.
The lone blemish on his resume was an Austin Riley solo homer in the fifth. This continues a hot run from Suarez, who has lowered his ERA to 3.50 and has allowed two runs in four June starts while striking out 18 in 20 innings. Suarez will likely oppose Max Scherzer and the Mets on Sunday.
Raisel Iglesias was summoned with a three-run lead and recorded his 10th save of the season against the Phillies on Tuesday.
It wasn't exactly an outing that fills one with confidence, as he allowed a leadoff double to Bryson Stott and the Phillies productive out-ed Stott home, and allowed the tying run to reach before striking out Kyle Schwarber. Iglesias has a 6.43 ERA in his last seven games and has allowed 11 hits in seven innings over that span.
Brandon Marsh went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Philadelphia's loss to Atlanta on Tuesday.
He sprayed a double down the right field line against Spencer Strider and would eventually score on a Nick Castellanos single. Marsh is finally cooling down a bit, hitting .220/.277/.280 over his last 30 games with three steals. But he still carries a strong .262/.347/.424 line on the season.
Austin Riley hit a solo home run against the Phillies in Atlanta's 4-2 win on Tuesday.
He provided the only run the Braves would score against Ranger Suarez, turning on a cutter, but went 1-for-5 while doing it. Riley has slumped his last 15 games, hitting .262/.319/.377 with just two homers, and his season line now stands at .259/.323/.430. Riley has not approached his preseason value this year after a couple of strong seasons in a row, and fantasy managers will be looking for him to turn it on deeper in the summer.
Chris Taylor (knee) is available off the bench for Tuesday's game agains the Angels.
Taylor received a cortisone injection in his right knee earlier this week and is unlikely to return to the Dodgers' lineup until later this week. He's expected to avoid a trip to the injured list and should be available to come off the bench for the next few days.
J.P. Crawford made an early exit from Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
No word yet on the reason for Crawford's exit yet. He was replaced at shortstop by Dylan Moore in the third inning after going 0-for-2 at the plate. There should be an update on his status soon.
Royals sent RHP Mike Mayers outright to Triple-A Omaha.
Mayers could wind up electing free agency after going unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment over the weekend. The 31-year-old righty might end up opting to remain with Kansas City as extra organizational pitching depth.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Michael Grove "make a lot of sense" to start Wednesday against the Angels.
Grove surrendered four home runs last Friday in a bulk relief appearances against the Phillies and is not a recommended option for fantasy managers if he takes the ball on Wednesday evening for Los Angeles.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Max Muncy (hamstring) could return on Friday.
Roberts added that Muncy is making progress in his recovery from a left hamstring strain and might be ready to return as early as this upcoming weekend.
Pablo Reyes has been scratched from the Red Sox' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins with right abdominal soreness.
No word yet on the severity of the issue, but it sounds like a precautionary decision. It'll be Enrique Hernández taking over at shortstop and batting ninth on Tuesday evening in Minnesota.
Dodgers designated RHP Andre Jackson for assignment.
Jackson has been removed from Los Angeles' 40-man roster to make room for righty Ryan Brasier ahead of Tuesday's game against the Angels. The 27-year-old righty has struggled to an inflated 6.62 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 16/3 K/BB ratio across 17 2/3 innings (seven appearances) this season in the big leagues.
