Randy Arozarena went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double, two RBI and a walk against the Orioles on Wednesday.
Arozarena is currently third in AL All-Star balloting and deservedly so, given his excellent .292/.409/.498 line in 73 games. He's 11th in the majors with his .907 OPS and tied for 12th with 50 RBI.
Vinnie Pasquantino underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Pasquantino is expected to miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign, but should be ready for the outset of spring training.
Raimel Tapia launched a solo homer on Wednesday in the Brewers' loss to the Diamondbacks.
Tapia fifth-inning tater off righty Zac Gallen accounted for Milwaukee's only offensive output in a low-scoring series finale.
Pablo Reyes (abdominal) is not in the Red Sox' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
There's no indication yet that Reyes will require a trip to the injured list after being scratched from Tuesday's game due to right abdominal soreness. It'll be Enrique Hernández once again at shortstop for the Red Sox on Wednesday night.
Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters both Matt Beaty and Samad Taylor are OK after a right-field collision during Wednesday's game.
Beaty wound up leaving the contest following the scary collision, but apparently isn't dealing with a potential concussion. It's possible he'll get a few days off coming up, but both players appear to have avoided serious injury. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward.
Dodgers placed RHP Shelby Miller on the 15-day injured list with neck pain.
The Dodgers needed to free up an active roster for Wednesday's starter Michael Grove, so Miller will head to the injured list for at least a few weeks. It doesn't sound like he's going to wind up requiring a lengthy absence. The 32-year-old righty has recorded a strong 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31/18 K/BB ratio across 30 innings (25 appearances) this season in his Los Angeles debut.
Giancarlo Stanton is not in the Yankees' lineup for Wednesday's showdown against the Mariners.
It's a routine off day for Stanton on Wednesday night with Willie Calhoun drawing a start at designated hitter.
Michael A. Taylor is back in the lineup Wednesday after missing two games with a head injury.
Taylor was hit by a pitch Sunday versus the Tigers. Willi Castro returns to the bench tonight after starting the last two days.
DJ LeMahieu is out of the Yankees lineup for a third straight game Wednesday against the Mariners.
LeMahieu isn't hurt, but manager Aaron Boone said yesterday that he was working on things. LeMahieu is batting just .162/.200/.279 in 23 games dating back to May 17. There's not much to justify holding on to him in shallow leagues at this point.
The Red Sox are considering bringing up Brandon Walter to start Thursday against the Twins.
If so, it'd be the major league debut for the 26-year-old Walter. He has a 6.28 ERA in Triple-A this year, though his 64/26 K/BB ratio and nine homers allowed in 61 2/3 innings aren't horrible.
J.P. Crawford is absent from Wednesday's lineup as a result of Tuesday's shoulder contusion.
Crawford is day-to-day. Kolten Wong gets a start against the Yankees, with José Caballero moving from second to short.
Sandy Alcantara gave up five runs and 10 hits over seven innings Wednesday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
Alcantara has given up five runs in three of his last four starts. He's allowed almost as many earned runs in 95 2/3 innings this season (54) as he did in 228 2/3 innings last season (58). Things will have to get a little better, but he's just an average pitcher right now, albeit one who works deeper into games than every other average pitcher.
Kevin Gausman pitched six innings and surrendered three runs Wednesday in a win over the Marlins.
He struck out six. Gausman has gone 5-0 with a 3.03 ERA in his last six starts after opening 2-3 with a far inferior 3.14 ERA in his first 10 outings. He'll miss the A's this weekend and face the Giants next time out.
Matt Chapman homered, doubled and walked Wednesday in leading the Blue Jays to a 6-3 win over the Marlins.
The slumping Chapman had five extra-base hits this month before delivering two today. He now has 10 homers and an AL-high 25 doubles on the season.
Jordan Romano recorded his 22nd save with a scoreless ninth versus the Marlins on Wednesday.
Romano has 10 saves in the first three weeks of June. He'll need tomorrow off after working back-to-back days, but that's not a problem; the Jays don't play Thursday.
Matt Beaty left Wednesday's game in the eighth inning after a collision with Samad Taylor in the outfield.
The two went face-to-face while trying to catch a fly, and Beaty took the worst of it, though at least he was steady on his feet as he walked off. Taylor remained in the game.
Athletics claimed RHP Angel Felipe off waivers from the Padres and assigned him to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Felipe, 25, had a 6.20 ERA and a 39/18 K/BB ratio in 24 2/3 innings as a reliever for Triple-A El Paso before the Padres designated him for assignment last week. He'll likely see time in the A's pen later on.
Guardians designated LHP Daniel Norris for assignment.
Norris made just one appearance for the Guardians, pitching two scoreless innings even though he walked three batters. He had a 6.93 ERA in Triple-A before being called up, so there's a good chance that he'll clear waivers.
Guardians selected the contract of RHP Gavin Williams from Triple-A Columbus.
Williams will make his major league debut tonight against the Athletics. He's worth rostering in all formats, and given the generous debut matchup, he should be active right away.
Nationals placed RHP Carl Edwards Jr. on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to 6/20, with right shoulder inflammation.
Edwards had allowed three runs in his last two innings of work, raising his ERA to 3.69. The Nationals will need more from Hunter Harvey and Mason Thompson with their holds leader sidelined for at least two weeks.
