Solano is still working out and his timetable has not changed as a result of this move. It allows the Reds another 40-man roster spot.
Tests on Steven Matz's injured left shoulder showed no additional cause for concern.
Matz was placed on the injured list earlier Monday with what was termed a left shoulder impingement, and it would appear that additional tests have cleared him of any structural damage. He's been prescribed rest for now and it will be determined at a later date whether he'll need an injection or something else.
