Reds purchased the contract RHP Silvino Bracho from Triple-A Louisville.
Bracho gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings for the Reds last month before being designated for assignment and clearing waivers. He'll rejoin the bullpen as a middle reliever.
Reds placed RHP Casey Legumina on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder pain.
Legumina just returned from an ankle contusion 10 days ago. It's been a rough season for the 26-year-old rookie, who has a 6.17 ERA in 10 relief appearances.
Reds optioned OF Stuart Fairchild to Triple-A Louisville.
Fairchild seems quite a bit more useful to the Reds than a third catcher, but they've had their mind made up about that all season long. The 27-year-old outfielder was batting .237/.332/.404 with four homers in 184 plate appearances.
Yankees recalled RHP Jhony Brito from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Brito will get the start against the Mariners tonight and could remain in the rotation for another outing or two afterwards. He's unlikely to be a factor in mixed leagues.
Reds recalled RHP Alan Busenitz from Triple-A Louisville.
Busenitz, 32, has allowed two runs in four innings for the Reds this season. He had a 1.96 ERA out of Louisville's bullpen.
Dustin Harris homered, doubled and walked twice in his Triple-A debut on Tuesday.
Harris, 23, could have opened this year in Triple-A after batting .257/.346/.471 in 85 games in Double-A last year, but the Rangers opted to leave him in Frisco initially and he was rather disappointing in hitting .245/.374/.406. A promotion came this week anyway, and it might have been just what he needed. Primarily a left fielder of late, Harris could get a shot in the majors in the second half if he produces. The Rangers are scoring plenty of runs, but they're not exactly settled in left field or at DH.
J.P. Martinez went 4-for-4 with a homer, two doubles and two walks for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Martinez is far removed from his days as a top prospect, but he's crushing it age 27 this year, hitting .350/.481/.553 with 21 steals in 22 attempts in 34 games for Triple-A Round Rock. It might take a Leody Taveras injury to get him an opportunity in Texas, but he's definitely put himself in position to make his major league debut.
Phil Bickford (back) made his first rehab appearance in Triple-A on Tuesday, striking out one in a perfect inning.
Bickford is eligible to come off the injured list and should do so soon. He's been out since June 3 with back tightness.
Jo Adell launched a 514-foot homer for Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Adell has gone 9-for-27 with two homers and seven RBI in six games since the Angels sent him back to Triple-A. There's no room for him in the majors while Hunter Renfroe and Taylor Ward are healthy, but he might draw some trade interest next month if he keeps it up in Triple-A. He's hit 20 homers in 61 games thus far.
Blue Jays optioned 1B Spencer Horwitz to Triple-A Buffalo.
It turned out to be a brief stay for Horwitz, who went 2-for-8 with an RBI and two walks while starting the last three games. The Jays could have kept him as a pinch-hitter for now with Brandon Belt back, but they decided they'd rather have Ernie Clement's glove on the roster.
Dylan Coleman gave up two runs and walked three in one-third of an inning for Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
Coleman was supposed to be the Royals' seventh-inning guy this year, but his velocity was down about three mph at the beginning of the year and he was sent down with an 18.00 ERA in Apr. 13. The good news is that he's since recovered about two mph of the lost velocity. However, since he's walked 21 (while also striking out 30) in 17 innings for Omaha, it looks like he'll need a while longer in the minors. He's still worth keeping an eye on, since the Royals could trade both Scott Barlow and Aroldis Chapman this summer.
Scott Kingery went 2-for-3 with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, leaving him at .354/.446/.583 for the month of June.
The hope was that Kingery's nice spring would carry over in Triple-A, but it didn't really happen; he had a .673 OPS in April and a .754 OPS in May. He has it working now, but it's a long shot that he'll get much of an opportunity in Philadelphia this year. With the guaranteed portion of his six-year deal coming to an end, he'll almost surely be released or non-tendered in the offseason.
Lenyn Sosa returned to Triple-A Charlotte's lineup on Tuesday and went 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Sosa missed 18 days with an undisclosed injury. He'd likely be in the majors right now if he'd been healthy, but because of his absence, the White Sox picked José RodrÃguez to fill in for Romy Gonzalez earlier this week.
Jared Jones gave up three runs in 5 2/3 innings in his debut for Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Jones, a 2020 second-round pick, had a 2.23 ERA and a 47/16 K/BB ratio in 44 1/3 innings for Double-A Altoona before moving up. The 21-year-old is known for his fastball, and he topped out at 98.8 mph in his Triple-A debut. He probably ought to spend the rest of this year in the minors, but there's the chance he could see time in Pittsburgh's rotation in the second half.
Beau Brieske (elbow) pitched 1 2/3 hitless innings for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
Brieske is up to five scoreless innings for Toledo on his rehab assignment, so he should be activated soon. A starter last year, he's currently throwing 96 mph while pitching an inning or two at a time.
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 3-for-5 with a solo homer on Tuesday in the Padres' loss to the Giants.
Tatis Jr. took righty Anthony DeSclafani deep to straightaway center field in the fifth inning for his 15th round-tripper of the season. With a .400/.488/.814 line, six homers and seven steals in 18 games, Tatis is one of the favorites for NL Players of the Month honors for June. If only anyone else on the Padres could keep up.
The Cubs will have Marcus Stroman start Sunday against the Cardinals in London.
That would have been Jameson Taillon's spot in the rotation, but the Cubs are switching things up with all of the off days around the series. Taillon presumably will start Tuesday or Wednesday against the Phillies. Justin Steele is still slated to start the first game of the series in London on Saturday.
The Nationals are having Joe La Sorsa join the team Wednesday in case another pitcher needs to go on the IL.
La Sorsa was claimed on waivers from the Rays a couple of weeks ago. There hasn't been any word of any Nationals pitchers battling injury, but something is going on, apparently. Or perhaps they'll come up with an injury for Rule 5 pick Thaddeus Ward, who threw 50 pitches last night and will need at least two days off.
Joc Pederson homered in the eighth and won the game with a bases-loaded walk in the ninth as the Giants defeated the Padres 4-3 on Tuesday.
Pederson's homer off Nick Martinez tied the game in the eighth, and after Martinez was replaced in the ninth, Pederson worked a game-winning walk off Josh Hader with two outs. The homer was his eighth in 149 plate appearances this season. He's sporting a career-best .387 OBP and an .895 OPS.
Josh Hader walked two of the three batters he faced Tuesday to end the game against the Giants.
It was Nick Martinez's baserunner who scored, so Hader didn't wind up with either a loss or a blown save after coming into a tie game tonight. He really shouldn't entirely escape blame, though; the walk to end the game was to Joc Pederson, who famously does not hit lefties.
