Jarred Kelenic blasted a three-run triple on Sunday afternoon, helping to propel the Mariners to victory over the White Sox.1

Jun 18   9:33 PM

Kelenic transformed a one-run lead into a four-run edge with his bases-clearing three-bagger off of Reynaldo Lopez in the eighth inning. It was his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon, but played a pivotal role in the M's victory. He has cooled considerably since his hot start to the season, but is still slashing a respectable .258/.327/.479 with 11 homers, 32 RBI and eight stolen bases on the season.

Julio Rodríguez went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, two RBI and a stolen base on Sunday afternoon, leading the Mariners to a 5-1 victory over the visiting White Sox.

Jun 18   9:33 PM

Rodríguez opened the scoring in the ballgame with a two-run double off of Lance Lynn in the third inning. He also drew a one-out walk in the sixth inning and swiped second base, but the Mariners were unable to cash him in from there. The 22-year-old outfielder has actually been a bit of a disappointment this season -- slashing .244/.303/.428 to go along with 12 homers, 39 RBI and 14 stolen bases through his first 68 ballgames.

Randy Arozarena went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs on Sunday night as the Rays fell to the Padres.

Jun 18   9:12 PM

Arozarena led off the second inning with a leadoff single off of Joe Musgrove, then came around to score the Rays' first run on an RBI single by Josh Lowe. He also singled to lead off the eighth inning and scored on a run-scoring knock by Harold Ramirez. With his three-hit attack, Arozarena is now slashing a robust .288/.405/.484 with 13 homers, 48 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.

Josh Hader locked down his 18th save of the season on Sunday, working a perfect ninth inning to preserve a one-run lead against the Rays.

Jun 18   9:12 PM

The star southpaw was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and certainly didn't disappoint. He needed just 12 pitches (nine strikes) to set down the Rays in order -- including strike outs of Wander Franco and Randy Arozarena. Hader now holds an impressive 1.27 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 41/12 K/BB ratio over 28 1/3 frames on the season.

Rougned Odor went 1-for-4 and smacked an RBI double as the Padres topped the Rays on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Jun 18   9:12 PM

Odor roped his run-scoring double off of Yonny Chirinos in the fourth inning, extending the Padres' lead to 4-2. He has struggled for the most part during his time with the Padres this season, slashing a mere .218/.319/.416 with four homers, 18 RBI and two stolen bases in his first 116 plate appearances.

Manny Machado went 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday afternoon, leading the Padres to a 5-4 victory over the Rays.

Jun 18   9:12 PM

Machado drove in a run with a sacrifice fly off of Yonny Chirinos in the third inning that extended the Padres' early lead to 3-1. He then plated Trent Grisham with an RBI single in the fifth inning to make it a 5-2 ballgame. Machado went down on strikes in each of his other two plate appearances in the game. For the season, the 30-year-old superstar is now hitting .249/.291/.401 with eight homers, 28 RBI and three swipes on the season.

Andrew Benintendi went 1-for-4 and plated the White Sox' lone run in Sunday afternoon's loss to the Mariners.

Jun 18   9:12 PM

Benintendi finally got the White Sox on the board with an RBI single in the sixth inning, cutting their deficit to one run at 2-1. That would wind up being the extent of their scoring though. He's now hitting .275/.345/.360 with one homer, 18 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.

Zack Wheeler blanked the A's for six innings to win Saturday.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

Wheeler's velocity was down about one mph, and he settled for four strikeouts today. Still, what he had was good enough to handle the A's. This makes three straight strong performances for him, though we are a little concerned about the downturn in his stuff, which was also present last time out. He's 6-4 with a 3.48 ERA overall.

Kyle Schwarber went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI in leading the Phillies to a 3-2 win over the A's on Sunday.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

With seven in his last 14 games, Schwarber has joined the 20-homer club. He's still batting just .187, but he's raised his OPS from .699 on June 3 to .787 now.

Brandon Marsh went 0-for-4 and struck out in a 12th straight game Sunday against the A's.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

Marsh has fanned a total of 25 times while going 6-for-43 with one extra-base hit in those 12 games. He's batting .198 with just one homer in 141 plate appearances since the beginning of May. The Philles probably wouldn't gain anything by playing Cristian Pache over him, but this is a deep, deep slump from Marsh.

Josh Naylor went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a steal in the Guardians' 12-3 rout of the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

We'll credit his brother's arrival for his big day. Naylor has yet to homer this month, but he is batting .351 with 10 RBI in 14 games anyway. Dating back to May 12, he's hitting .386 with five homers and 34 RBI in 30 games.

Zach Davies was lit up for nine runs -- eight earned -- in 3 2/3 innings by the Guardians on Sunday.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

Davies has pitched a total of 6 2/3 innings and given up 15 runs in his last two starts, leaving him with a 7.11 ERA in seven starts for the season. The Diamondbacks probably don't anyone they'd like to replace him right now, so he'll probably keep his spot. He has to be better next time out, though.

Tanner Bibee yielded three runs in five innings Sunday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

Bibee had to deal with a 15-minute delay in the first because of a problem with the lights at Chase Field, but he struck out the next batter to finish the inning. Bibee was again unusually wild today; not only did he walk three, but he threw three wild pitches. He had thrown a total of two wild pitches in eight starts coming into the day. We'd recommend sticking with Bibee, but he needs to tighten things up a bit.

Although he reached base safely just once, Steven Kwan finished with four runs scored and three RBI against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Jun 18   8:34 PM

A bizarre line from Kwan, but in addition to his two-run triple, he reached on an error and twice reached base on forceouts. He's the ninth player ever to score four runs while finishing with just one hit and no walks, and he's the first ever to do that and also drive in three runs. This comes one day after he finished with four hits, one run scored and no RBI.

Freddie Freeman told reporters after Sunday's game that his wrist is fine and that he expects to be in the Dodgers' lineup on Tuesday.

Jun 18   8:04 PM

Freeman was seen rubbing and flexing his wrist after a head-first slide into second base, but he indicated that he just jammed it on the base but was perfectly fine and didn't require treatment after the game. Expect the superstar first baseman to be in the Dodgers' lineup on Tuesday.

Logan Webb fired seven strong innings in Sunday's victory over the Dodgers, allowing just two runs on eight hits and a pair of walks.

Jun 18   7:48 PM

The right-hander punched out five batters on the afternoon. He allowed a run-scoring single to James Outman in the fourth inning and another to David Peralta in the fifth, but otherwise Webb squashed the Dodgers' scoring chances. He got 10 whiffs on 103 pitches on the day, posting a respectable CSW of 29 percent. Now 6-6 on the season, he'll tote a 3.11 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 96/19 K/BB ratio (98 1/3 innings) into Friday's start against the Diamondbacks.

Camilo Doval slammed the door on the Dodgers in the ninth inning on Sunday, recording the final two outs to preserve a four-run lead.

Jun 18   7:48 PM

It didn't look like Doval was going to be required in this one, but he was called upon after Scott Alexander loaded the bases with one out in the inning. Doval came on and hit Will Smith to force in a run, but then struck out David Peralta and got J.D. Martinez to fly out to end the ballgame. He now boasts a 1.99 ERA and 1.07 WHIP to go along with 19 saves in 21 opportunities on the season.

LaMonte Wade Jr. went 1-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday as the Giants topped the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Jun 18   7:48 PM

Wade Jr. drove in a run with an RBI ground out in the fifth inning that extended the Giants' lead to 3-1. He then smacked an RBI single in the sixth inning that made it a 7-2 ballgame. The 29-year-old also walked in the ballgame, reaching base safely in two of his five plate appearances. He has done a terrific job as the Giants' catalyst this season -- slashing .279/.416/.465 with nine homers, 27 RBI and two stolen bases.

Luis Matos doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday afternoon, helping to lead the Giants to a 7-3 victory over the Dodgers.

Jun 18   7:48 PM

The 21-year-old outfielder delivered a big hit with a two-run double off of Tony Gonsolin in the sixth inning, extending the Giants' lead to 5-2. He has been awfully impressive during his brief time with the Giants so far -- slashing .333/.529/.417 with six runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base.

Spencer Horwitz reached three times and picked up an RBI on a groundout in his major league debut Sunday.

Jun 18   7:28 PM

Horwitz had a single and walked twice as the Blue Jays' DH. He should be in the lineup against most right-handers until Brandon Belt returns.
